In response to a number of PM's concerning getting things off of the wrecked bike be advised the bike now belongs to GEICO as they are paying me out on a total loss. The bike was twoed to Butlers Wrecking Service in Townsend, TN where I left it. I dont know where GEICO had them take it after the adjuster was done, it may still be there while GEICO waits for title. Im in Huntley, IL about 650 miles away and I cant get to the bike. I dont know who to contact, but I would start with the towing company (or wrecking service as they say in Tennessee).

I hope this helps

You gotta admit the Rocket motor would make for an awsome project bike build in the off season, Just think of the possibility's:cool:

The appraiser told me my bike would be at IAA (Insurance Auto Auctions) in Knoxville, TN as soon as the title is received from my bank. You must have a dealers license to bid, but that where the bike will be...

For those of you that have been inquiring

So no one wants my accessories I guess?

I was just talking about that with the dealer today. Thought it would be a great "swap" for one of those 4 wheeled carts they run at the dunes! Power to weight would be great and the torque is awesome!

I'm very sorry to hear about your low side. Been away farming and playing order filler on the website. I believe I'd forego a Rocket next time around (in as much as Peter Carleo has a communication problem) because the warranty transfered properly so there is no excuse other than ignorance on Triumph's part.....

If you like touring, a Beemer K bike or a Kawasaki Concourse would be my choices, especially the Concourse with the Ninja engine, a screamer with luggage.

Thanks Flip, I dont think a Triumph is in mhy future, in fact Im going to see a low mileage R1100RT tommorow, I had one a few ago, other bikes have more HP but the bike rode like stink. Of course there's a really nice 01 GL1800 at the local Honda dealer w/ only 15k miles on it, Ive never owned a "wing" but this one seems to be calling to me.

BTW Flip thanks for all of the tips on dealing w/ Triumph, even though it didnt work out its nice to know I wasnt off base thinking the clutch should've lasted longer.

No problem. It's not what you ride that's important, it's that you ride. Bikes are bikes, I'm totally equal opportunity, look at me, I have a Kawasaki in the garage and I like it.

Whatever you wind up with, don't be a stranger on this site and if you need K&N filters for your whatever, I'll be happy to get them for you.

I'm going to start carrying 7th Gear lubricants soon. 7th Gear is American blended like Amsoil, synthetic and JASO-MA rated. I'm running 7th Gear in all m y bikes at the present time. It's not as pricey as Amsoil or Mobil 4T. Not as cheap as a dino oil but not as pocket robbing as the Triumph recommended elixr or the Amsoil.

I feel really bad that Carelo didn't have the basic courtesy to follow up on a legitimate concern. That's very poor business practice, especially in today's recessionary economy, worldwide. Even if he had no intention of making good on a refund or even if it was out of his hands, he should have communicated that with you, one way or another. I know, I try to follow up on every one of my customers, especially if there is any concerns. I learned early on that one or two customers harboring feelings of ill will can literally break your ass. To that end, my customers are always right. My wife isn't.:)

Whatever you wind up with, ride safely and pro-actively and keep in touch. We all love to hear adventures and first hand opinions of other bikes besides Rockets.
