I quit my job yesterday

Clinging to a job that sucks is a ticket to non-stop misery, so good for you that you landed on your feet. 2 weeks of vacation is pretty bad though. Heck, a month is way too little, at that.

Ya, America is way behind Europe in vacation time. But it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make to get back to doing what I enjoy the rest of the time. Just not being treated like something someone stepped in will be worth it !

My father was a pilot for a major airline for over thirty five years, when new management came in they got rid of all the old timers and offered them an early retirement package. I remember going to his retirement party and looking at how they got rid of some really experianced personal. It's all about the buck today not the employees "sad".. I can't wait to retire, that gyniecological job in Colorado that was posted here a few days ago sounds interesting...Good luck with the new job....

I'm glad it's worked out well for you. Such situations usually don't have a happy ending. The license plate bracket on the back of my truck states: "Labor Unions - Capitalism For Workers".

Glad it worked out for you Fred, the money you save not having to go that extra 26 miles to work will pay for your unpaid extra two weeks holiday I reckon

I agree with your reasoning totally. How are the scans turning out? Hope you can afford to RAA it.

I too agree and identify with all those here who've "trained their bosses". I did the same for 20 years cuz of having only 2 years formal education. That is what gave me incentive to finish up and then some more after I took an "early out" package. The extra book learnin' didn't help me get another job but it felt good to be able to feel superior to all the past "managers" I had trained.
