Just hike out on the seat and push the bike in the opposite direction to keep it more towards the tread edge...you have at least a few thousand more miles that way.
Ugh! I've escorted a couple of riders showing cords over the years. One time to 'Willow Springs' raceway, to beg for some takeoffs. One dude was on a 1198, so it's not as if he was a newb, or broke! Meh, my days of using TP on both sides to save a penny are done.
I only did that on 4 wheels when I lived payday to payday and would stop for 30 cent in gas so i could get to work to get my check (the '80's). Now that I have a family, including 5 grandchildren, and a wife who rides... if I can't afford the tires and maintenance then I can't afford to ride... Of course if it just happened unexpectedly after a long ride... it's the risks we take...

Went on my laptop and found the pic, steel started to show leaving Bennington Bash in Vermont , Max BMW said no BMWs used that size, so they didn't have one, when I got within 100 miles of home I felt better, as far as someone coming to get me if it blew. Almost 300 miles on steel, I was amazed.
