Is the harness all one needs or have to replace the bulbs too?

I'm using sylvania silver stars just like in my MINI, They are similar to the factory bulbs but seem to last a little longer for me. But believe me, the stock bulbs are fully capable of being much brighter than they are in a stock bike. With the EB kit they went from yellow tinged to bright white just from them getting the full 12+ voltage with no ignition switch resistance.

The eb kit is all you need. The light improvement comes from the eb kit bypassing your ignition switch and in turn allowing your lights to get the Proper voltage. Your bulbs are not defective. Your wiring harness as stock is constricting the voltage, causing dim lights and eventually an ignition switch failure.

Another +1 for the EB kit, I installed mine 2 weeks ago and I can't believe how much brighter the headlights are after bypassing the ignition switch. The resistance on the factory switch must be pretty high to make such a difference, no wonder they melt themselves to death!

the eb is the bom, i even feel like dipping lights to on coming traffic now just in case it is to bright for them

I have ordered the EB headlight kit, awaiting arrival so have revisited this thread. Having a look at the wiring diagram for the bike, it seems to me that all the power to light the bulbs goes through the ignition switch & the dimmer switch. If I am right then the voltage drop across this circuit could be considerable. Working on 9amps + is the current drawn for the two full beam filaments, then voltage drop across a resistance is equal to the (amps x resistance), then a resistance of 1 ohm would result in a voltage drop of 9 volts. We can see then that it takes very little in the circuit using 2 switches to have a resistance that would drop the voltage by a couple of volts and make a huge difference in luminance from the bulbs. Add to this the fact that the current is being switched then contact resistance must deteriorate over time causing even greater resistance & greater voltage drop resulting in even less brightness. I look forward to seeing the results when the kit arrives.

Just hooked up the EB H4 light relay kit. Easy install with much brighter light. I also installed a stebel horn with the EB single horn kit. Little tougher install since I had to remove the CA Evap Cannister to install the horn under the left side cover, but the EB wire kits are very well made and the instructions on his web site are well laid out.

can the ignition switch be repaired? what usally goes wrong with it.
