How to modify triple clamp to accept Harley bars or risers. I installed 1.5" T-bars.

The more you "normalize" the bike the more you get access to aftermarket parts. They're not really "Harley" parts, they're just made to fit the standards set in that world.

But the crappy aftermarket for Triumphs is a bit of annoyance to me also. Some stuff works for my Touring, some doesn't.

Blame Triumph R&D. 1/2 their engineering is straight carbon copy of Suzuki stuff, not that its bad, just when you build a 50% uzuki, 25% random off the shelf stuff, and 25% triumph developed it screws with established norms, making aftermarket stuff a dicey thing

Like that look, but what if you had Triumphs clock and gauge gauge would it be possible to mount it on top of the bars, so that you have all four gauges ?

Exactly! Using the phrase "Harley bars" to mean the zillions of options in risers and bars out there made for Harleys and if they aren't a traditional 1" bar, they won't work on our triumph because of the 3.75" riser spacing and the fact that our riser is 1" and can't be replaced due to the gauge mount being integral to it. Even the 1.25" bars that step down to 1" through the risers may not work due to the larger Triumph spacing.. so, creating a true 3.5" spacing and mounting the gauges apart from the riser opens up the market of options.. nothing at all to do with Harley, never owned one, never will... ok, never say never, but most likely never will.. and I won't get a Harley tattoo either.
SO whydo I need ZILLIONS of bars when I like the stock bars ? i know Im a kill joy and Im busting on you but Im serious I guess I dont like the look of this stuff BUT Ill keep in mind and if some one asks about these items I will tell them about your mods

SUZUKI STUFF BS where did you come up with that ?

You're just one guy who doesn't want to mod his bars/ergos.

That doesn't mean there aren't others out here who do want to do that, and the easier it is made and the more standard the parts are, the better it is for everyone including Triumph.

If you can't beat'em, join'em, that kind of thing. And Triumph will never even come close to matching Harley on sales volume in the states.

Drew it up in CAD and had a friend knock it out on his CNC.

For us Touring riders especially who don't have to worry at all about the gauges (they're on the tank) machining up a whole new clamp would probably be the best approach to get to "v-twin standard". Plus, you could just set the original aside and have it available when selling the thing giving the new owner two good choices. I'm fairly happy with the Touring bars now with risers but it's an interesting reminder that we're really not limited to accepting existing bolt-on parts, you can always have stuff literally manufactured to spec if need be.

Sure as long as the mount fits whatever size bar you are using (1", 1.25" or 1.5"). I assume you mean on top of the T bar. The only thing you'd have to be concerned about is the gauges would have to look REALLY good on the back side as they'd be the tallest thing and easiest to see... so, you'd likely have to get something high-end like Baron custom (REALLY spendy).

Not a huge imposition, but a deal breaker for me, Amigo . . .
    :D
