How to lift your Rocket

lifting

the piccys help mate. will be doing the same thing as soon as i get the scooter to do the measure. I presume from the looking at the manual that you can only get at two of the oil plugs and the third will have to be done without the stand. until i get the scooter i won't know. :D

lifting lug

hi robyyy, thanks for the idea, why think when someone else can do it for you. just finished my copy of your bracket, just waiting for the paint to dry. (i'm fussy) :D :D

I've got the same lift with a different top, the pic looks like the bike maybe a bit front heavy? Not being picky, i'll probably copy the same attachment.

Rob, Thanks for the pictures. They're worth a thousand words !!
I have a couple of questions:

1) Are you able to lift the bike high enough to allow removal of the rear wheel by yourself ?

2) I examined the right and left "centerstand" mounting holes on my bike and it appears that the tolerances/space around the holes are tight. So:

-Is your right (exhaust manifold side) bracket ear a closed drill hole or open (at top) to allow for the tight tolerance to the adjacent engine mount bolt?

- Are your mounting bolts a "stock" size or did you have to machine the heads to clear the space restrictions from the inside of the bike ?

Rob,

...Thanks much for the info.!! Kudos again for a great solution to lifting a Rocket.

Best, Dana.

P.S. My ooops for not introducing myself in the new members section.

In regards to the possible mounting area for a center stand......has anyone made a center stand for this bike that stays on the bike or could be mounted when needed. It would take out the need for a jack.

Car hoist

I use an auto two post hoist. Nylon strap through frame top attached to one hoist leg. Very stable.
