How old is too old for an old man to be riding a R3R.

When I bought my 09 Touring at 69 years old, my second R3, I thought to myself that I surely must be loosing my mind and wondered what had possessed me. I thought that I should be getting a smaller bike as I grew older. I was encouraged when I learned of 1olbull's advanced years.

The big issue for me is not riding it but in moving the mass about, especially backing it out of my shop and turning it around on the crushed rock. My knees are shot and are due for replacement in the fall, a procedure that I dread the thought of. If this goes well, I will no longer wonder why I bought another Rocket.

Man, there are some old people here, I am not even pulling down Social Security yet (soon though).

I have already informed SWMBO that when I can't do 2 wheels I will be doing 3.

You are to old to ride a motorcycle when you can no longer do any of the following ... no matter what your age is.

See clearly with or without glasses.
Think clearly and remember the directions to get home.
Balance - No inner ear problems.
Pick the bike up off the kickstand. It takes strength to operate the bike.
Hear - Although it is legal in most places to drive deaf.

I bought a dolly from Harbor Freight thinking I could use it to move it around the garage. It was rated at 1500 pounds so no problem. Problem, the bike's wheel base is too long to fit properly. I keep looking at it thinking about modifying it. Just not sure yet. Like the wife said. I only need 2 more inches.

Will NOT be happy about it, but when the day comes for me, I also shall go to three wheels - a reverse trike.

Bill,
I disagree with one item.
Should be able to pick bike up from a lay over on either side.
Only excuse would be to never ride alone and only with riders who can pick it up!
