How many times can one say good-bye?

Did you get that bonnie , i swapped my t bird for the bonnie t100, and love it , i find in the hills where i love to ride the bonnie is awsome , and can keep up with anything , , for the long trips i love my rocket tourer so best of both worlds ,,

But with saying that when i retire next year excatly 12 months to be precise , i'll watch the pennys a bit more and probably go back to a t bird (storm ) has a one bike does all .

I had a 66 Bonnie when I was in high school back in the 60's. Then when I was turning 50 I was getting my oil changed and saw a full page add for the Bonneville America, fell in love with it. I did not even know they were building bikes again. Then I was getting ready for this big trip I just made and it was the day b4 my 60th getting a wind screen put on. Sitting in the showroom was a 2013 R3T and of course it had to be my birtday present.
Almost 15,000 miles on it since the end of May and I love it. Bit I do miss my America, great little bike and very retro:)

Did you get that bonnieQUOTE]

I did!

Have added a bit of chrome here and there on it and got rid of the rubber gaiters on the front fork (the front end is now identical to that of the "Thruxton"model). Next week ( 3'000 miles later), I am gonna go for TOR pipes with an electronic re-tune and a hi-flow air filter.

Best.

Ol' Jamie ;)

I bought a T100 a couple of months ago. I love it. I put TORs, Thruxton seat and a fly screen on mine. Next up is a seat cowl then I'm done with it.

Almost same combo as me, except my Bonnie is a SE.

"La 'Bird" is up for sale, 28 months after her showroom exit. The "feet forward" posture it commands has become an undeniable contributor to my on-going back problems (and I am reportedly "pushing" 64!). I was about to part with it, family pressure unanimously helping, and sadly join the ranks of "former-bikers-with-age/health-excuses".

Instead, I have foolishly or valiantly decided to trade it in for a new Bonneville T100. And to (try to-) keep on riding, regardless.

Best regards to this forum's natives and veterans

Ol'Jamie:)

Sorry to hear that, Jamie. I'm 4 years your senior and sold my Boss Hoss because i, too, wanted a smaller and more nimble bike so I bought an R3!

Greetings Zenbiker!

Am (1949 vintage) truly enchanted that I can at long last be someone else's junior on this motorcycle forum ... :D

Aye! Jamie:cool:

A bit of respect towards a coloured musician would not come amiss:p

Holy crap!
I haven't heard that "colored" term used in a loooooooooooooong while, especially with the different spelling. :D
What color was Bo Didley? Svart?
heh heh heh havin' some fun now . . .

I'd go with a Truxton. It has more panache and is flickable as a switchblade. But it requires more of a stretch to the bars.
