How best to secure an EZ Pass transponder on a motorcycle ?

If it doesn't need to be visible, a zip tie or two would work wonders hidden behind a body panel.

Couldn't resist an Edit

There were only 3 times I paid a toll in Houston on my R3. All 3 times I had the transponder in my jacket pocket.

"Some" toll plazas have the cameras set "too wide" and you can ride the white line and not get caught on picture(pretty much all of the grand parkway). Others, you have to have the shortened plate mount and the camera physically cannot see under the rear fender(most of the beltway).

Not sure about other states yet

If your panniers are fiberglass or mystery plastic you can stash the ez-pass in there...it should work fine. I have mine in a windshield bag. But I lock it in a pannier when i feel the need. But the reason the EZ Pass people want bikes to go through a tended booth, is that there is no specified location for tags on motorcycles that is guaranteed to work. They say put it where ever is secure for you, and go through a tended booth. If it does work you will get a green light. If not, you can pull it out and wave it, or tell the toll taker to take your picture...the toll will come out of your account eventually, so long as your EZ pass tag is associated with your bike's license plate.

Got caught in the wrong lane of the Katy Fwy HOV, inbound. Also got my R3 plate picture and a ticket.

Something like this may be the answer. I have this one for my GPS:

Ok I have a quick question about this EZ pass stuff. First I have no Toll roads around me when I am home but lately while I am away I find myself avoiding toll roads roads in this area simply because I have still been waiting for a year or so on a bill (pay by Plate) which has never arrived. I call they look and say they have no record of my hummer passing thru the tunnel. Anyway can you get two tied to the same account so I can just leave one stashed on the bike and have one in my truck?

Yes, at least here in Florida. I have three and two bikes tied to one account by giving them all the tags. You can buy 5 transponders or be a cheapskate and buy one portable to take in the vehicle your using.
