well after chasing down a clutch failure, due to a dealer clutch warranty fix years back ( no washer between the thrust bearing and outer clutch housing causing bearing to slowly weare into the aluminum ) fixed with free dealer parts and my labour I put it all back together and decided to take off the Zard Exhaust and throw the original exhaust back on . Start the bike up and this ticking sound was coming from the engine FRACK what now I say Hmmmm did you check the cam chain while you were forking around ? NOPE so from what I have read here about a 2005 Engine # 209718 I'm in for some more work . I checked the cam chain tensioner dept now at 25MM Frack .looked through the bottom chain drive window and gave the crank a wiggle while watching for drive sprocket lash none observed . So should I shoot for new chain while replacing the wear guides ? Do they stretch bad ? I know it's a DID chain Just want to have the chain on hand if this is the case , I know I can measure when it's off but if it's a know problem I'd rather have on hand when I start. Will be replacing the lower sprocket and key and wear guides,
