Got back from picking the wife up from work, on the way home the idle suck at just under 2K and stayed there for the last 2 miles home, only to stop when I switch the engine off... Turned it back on and the idle was back to normal

Any ideas?
:?
And has it been discussed before?

Happened to me just one time. Out of the blue, the bike started running at 3000 revs - wouldn't drop below that. Stopped bike, turned it off. Waited a while, then turned it on again (works with computers, I thought - why not a bike?).

Anyway, it was OK from then on - back to normal.

That was a couple of months ago, just before my tps went crook.

No idea whether that is connected or not.

High Idle

Mine did that a few times, every time I tried to show my husband it didnt do it... figures.. then one day, it did it for him when he was out riding mine and sure as heck, its just a fluke!

Billy ,
I've had the same problem with mine, got more frequent. Esp. when restarting on short stops when the bike was hot. I spayed a high grade Teflon lube on the stepper motor and its linkages. Have not had any problems for a few months.

Bill, same problem with mine. The dealer replaced both the TPS and the stepper motor and it now runs great....

Same again. I had all the throttle bodies and steppers changed under warranty and within the first month I had the same old intermittant high rev and idle. Now I also have throttle lag. When I have it wound wide open for a short time in top, I shut it down and the bike leaps up and accelerates slightly before responding to the roll off? Bit of a brown seat moment when you are rapidly approaching the rear of a car at about 140ish

Have you dealer adjust the idle... That is cable at the grip and down below... If that doesn't work then recall tune is in order... If that doesn't work, then replace TPS and/or stepper motor....

Mike...
