Triumph R3T 2012
Just bought 2012 R3T the other day out in BC, 1400 km on it and the price was right. It was one of two bikes that I've wanted for awhile and I'm pretty sure after a short ride in rain and gusting 30 mph winds I'm going to love it. What I hate about it? It's in BC!! Had to store it my dad's as it's too cold to bring home to Saskabush right now so I have to wait until about May before I'll be able to put it to use. In the meantime I'm hoping to learn as much about it from actual owners (instead of those greedy salesmen). Most people that have owned a bike for awhile will have already found out and published the good and bad about their bike. Mine is stock as far as engine and exhaust go so if there's anyone with tips on what I should do right away let me know. Thanks, looking forward to putting some (s)miles on this thing!!!

Well Blade, congrats on the new purchase. It will be a long wait for sure. I purchased my 2012 Roadster in November 2013 site unseen from the dealership 8 hours away. That wait until the following spring was.....painful.

It will all be worth it though. Get those accessories.

Welcome aboard from the UK.
Pity you've got to wait so long but it will be worth it I'm sure.
In the meantime, this certainly is the best place to learn everything you'd want to know about Rockets. Friendly too.

I drove straight through to go pay for it knowing I'd have to store it for the winter but now that it's done......****, can't wait to ride. Going to PEI with the wife next summer, she just upgraded to a Nomad so we have the bikes for that long trip now. I agree, it'll be worth the wait. This bike came loaded with extras, the only thing I might need to buy is a taller windshield for the prairies, Land of the Living Skies you know, ya, all on your face! Other than that this bike is ready to go. Thanks for responding

I can tell already it's friendly and if it's anything like the Yamaha forum I'm sure I'll learn tons of stuff.

Darryl, congratulations on the purchase that is a long wait to be able to start riding the beast.Remember to be careful in parking lots and such until you get used to going slow it can be challenging at times.plenty of info on here scan the different threads you will have most of your questions answered.

Thanks Fingers, I find it turns easier than my Yamaha but not as easily as the wife's Nomad and I notice the weight difference so between that and the extra power I'll have some adjustments to make for my first ride this spring but I probably won't even notice with the grin on my face....

I went down to a 130 on the front it made a world of difference. What model Yamaha did you have?

Does that screw up your speedo? I had a 1300 Tourer and after putting on Michelin Commanders my speedo was out about 10 km, loved that bike after I modified the windshield and fixed the lugging in first gear, it was hard to sell but......those Wyoming winds convinced me I needed a bigger bike for the long haul. Not to mention the prairie winds.
