Hi all will be getting 2009 Touring shortly and have ?'s

I bought the biggest Cee Bailey Screen - not sure if its 22 inch, I know its described as 8 inches over standard. I'm 6 foot 4 int eh old language - the screen is great. It fits straight onto the standard mounting bracket. I recommend it.

My tough Harley mates who ride their (little) bikes don't use screens. They reckon I only need air conditioning now to complete the set up.
 
I added a power sockets to mine (both the Kuryaken and the Triumph factory) and a Battery Tender pigtail as well as a cell phone mount (RAM "X" mount) and another mount for the radar detector... Something very much needed on this bike.
 
I mounted an aftermarket power outlet on mine where the Triumph one goes. Then I bought a male cigarette plug and put it on my battery tender. Now I don't have that loose pigtail to deal with.
 
I think if i were you i would hold off on the risers and see how you go,, I put the rivco risers on mine but being a 5'7" short ass i need them , and what you will need to do is change the clutch cable , a lot will say reroute it , which is fine, i done that but just that slight stretch constantly there , had me cursing when it snapped after 10,000 klm , in the middle of nowhere , the cost to buy a longer one was only about 80 dollars ,

I was lucky a guy pulled up and had a spare cable , fancy that heh, middle of no where and this guy has a spare cable in his car , he got me going and saved me hundreds of dollars , so if you do go the riser route , for the little amount buy a longer cable
 
I think the later Tourings are all the same, but not completely positive. I have the Triumph 25" windshield, total wind protection, downside is at night it reflects all the instrument lighting as a smear of orange, white, and blue across the windshield at exactly eye level for me (6'), maybe you will look over it. Dual long haul seat is the most comfortable motorcycle seat I've ever sat on, bar none, even cross country. I didn't like the angle my hands grasped the handlebars at, I put Classic bars on, at the limit of my reach, but much better angle. At 6' 3" I can't imagine you needing risers with either bars. Jardines, triple K&Ns and a retune with TuneECU (freeware) give me 150 hp and torque, considerable difference from stock, but the Jardines are real rumblers, deep and loud.
 
[/SIZE][/B]I am 6'2" and it turns out that the windshield is just the right height for me, I can look over it sitting up or scoot down in the seat and look through the windshield. Also the handle bar position is very comfortable as is, so I won't be needing a riser.

Two items I will be looking for on used market are Progressive rear shocks and possibly more comfortable seat. Seat I have is alright but could be better. I am going to put a wanted ad up for both. Also might get front progressive shocks if their not to difficult to install.
 

After reading the oil filter question, I would not put the PCS1 on my Rocket. Here is a link TRIICK posted: Motorcycle Oil Filters & Air Filters (Good info)
 
Rocket51, we may have to meet up sometime. I have a 2010 Touring with a few mods you might be interested in. I'm just south of Dallas in Duncanville.
