Help - bike not starting, neutral sensor maybe?

I had that problem before, it turned out to be the clutch switch, easy fix, hope yours is that easy

Bloody typical, the fault wouldn't show up at the dealer

They checked and cleaned the sensors and it's behaving perfectly at the moment. Will wait and see how it goes. At least they didn't charge me and gave me a free courtesy bike

i tell my customers that the more info they can give me the better i can diagnose the problem. now i usually start mine in neutral with the kickstand down if at that point it doesn't engage the starter i would keep the clutch in and try pushing the starter button several times then lift the kickstand and try again if it should start that might mean that the gps is bad.
if you have a lap top or something similar i would suggest that you get the tune ecu and get familiar with it so you can figure out the problem for yourself. when hooked up it will give info on clutch,starter relay,main relay and starter switch. and a lot of other info. there is a lot of guys that have them and always willing to help you out. $20 and a little time is a bargain for the info you receive.

I had a similar problem with mine...2010 Roadster... it turned out to be the orange plastic connector for the ignition wiring harness. I would turn the handlebars and would sometimes get a flicker of power. When I disconnected the harness and looked at it, the plastic had actually melted slightly inside and made for a bad connection for the ignition. I went and bought a 30amp wired fuse holder and "jumped" the harness. Haven't had a problem since. Great bike....TERRIBLE wiring. My Speed Triple is the same way...poor electrical from across the pond.

Quick update...bike has been absolutely fine since it came back from the dealer so whatever 'cleaning and checking' they did seems to have fixed the problem - for now anyway.

Got to put a new rear tyre on very soon, that's another £300 gone At least I'll have good rubber for the summer

Dave Google my tyres I get mine from them Bridgestone extra max 55 profile £140 with free delivery last year ,300 sounds steep even for supply and fitting also make sure they grease the drive splines on the prop shaft. Shame your not closer I could fit for nothing.
