Hello from New Zealand - 2004 Rocket III - Project Bike

It's a tad ironic that you would almost be better off if the bike had 30,000km on it as that would most likely mean it would have had all the upgrades done to it. Great idea though. I especially like this one from the link @Wrecka posted.

Yes, I like that one a lot and I was also thinking something like this for inspiration too

Hi Nige,

Another welcome from the UK. As you can see we're a pretyy friendly bunch and there's a lot of knowledge on here.

As others have said the bike looks good but you're the man on the spot and know what's what. Hope you have fun doing it and don't forget to post plenty of pictures.

Hey mate, I'm kind of predominantly after the look and for short rides out. I have a few bikes so it's a project to play around with and to make it a bit unique. I certainly hear you about ruining it, and i'm not going to jump in and start cutting without a clear plan. I am pulling it apart now and drafting some design options. I think this will be the kind of project that will grow and not done all at once.

The photos I showed are pretty deceptive as 90% of the chrome is pitted and bubbled up so it will need doing anyway...also the paint has scratches and the front fender is dented. I got a nice design done yesterday for the exhaust system and I hope it goes in next week for that to be completed.

I'll post a lot of photos as I go :)

Thanks for the guidance and feedback. It's all duly noted!!
