Hello Bigworm and welcome from Virginia. The only HD I've had was an '82 Ironhead. I often find myself looking for one on Craig's list, then I remembered I was 20 then and that was one rough ride.
And while I have not had a Maxim, I do currently have an '82 XS650 Special as a project.

Well my old iron is a little off from a stock ride I put a 3" stretch and showa shocks in the tail and a softtail wide glide and twin disc 21 outfit the front kinda rides like an old shovel super glide now
