Triumph Rocket Roadster 2014

Hi everyone,

I'm the guy who agonized over whether not to buy an Indian or a rocket. In case you missed the conclusion to the thread I opted for a rocket.

I lucked out and found a gently used rocket loaded with accessories. It is a 2014 Roadster with 1585 miles on it. It was equipped with the large windshield, a Corbin seat, sissy bar and rack, Dain exhaust, panniers and saddlebags, crash bars and highway pegs, custom loud horn and Triumph battery tender. I got all this for the price of $11,500 cash.

I had to tell my wife that it was basically irresponsible for me not to buy this motorcycle. LOL.

The only thing I'm not terribly happy with is the taillight. It's kind of on the dimm side being just a conventional to filament bulb. Additionally I think the plastic for the Red lens is very thick.

I ordered a brighter LED style bulb. And a flashing modulator which I've already installed. I'm going to probably put a 6 inch LED strip under the license plate as an additional brake light. I'm also going to put some nice green LED strips underneath the bike on the frame to give it more road "pressence" as it goes down the road.

I am also planning on putting some kind of cell phone holder/charger on the handlebars.

These are all the things I plan to do with in the next month.

Next year I'll probably get rid of the stock airbox and either go ram air or K&N and trying to figure out what I want to do with the electronics.

I'm still kind of a Homer Simpson when it comes to understanding the difference between a power commander and a tune boy or just getting a flash done at the dealer.

BTW i'll probably send a message out to the rocket owners I've seen on the map in New Mexico. But does anyone have anything good to say about the dealer up in Albuquerque? The one closer to me and I'll Paso doesn't terribly impressed me.

Welcome and it's great that you are a responsible person who chooses the finer things in life. From a UK rider:)

Thanks, I've owned a lot of different bikes down through the years. And I have to say that right now for who I am where I live and the way I ride the Triumph Rocket is probably the best bike for me.

I put 400 miles on it this Saturday in southern and central New Mexico.

Here's a quick video clip of the bike getting it's for a spin around the block after being brought home on a trailer.

Thanks for the reply breeze. I don't know if I'll be doing any runs this year but I sure plan on doing a lot of riding. Hopefully I'll get to hook up with you in the beautiful sunshine State
