The mods I'm looking at doing next are a better seat, highway pegs (I'm liking the looks of the Rivco mounts that bolt to the lower rails,) and triples. Probably in that order.

I've thought about it but I can't make it this year, though it looks like the weather should be great this weekend.
Rivco makes lower rail highway pegs????? I spent hours with the Kuryakin rep last year at their tent in Ocean City trying to fit something that would work and we never could come up with the right combination. They make beautiful stuff for the Honda and a couple other lower bar'd bikes but nothing would fit on the R3 and at the time Rivco didn't have diddly .... is this new or did you find a combo that works?

Watch out for Rivco crash bars ... they don't have a good rep around the site since Triumph beefed up their factory part.

I was looking at these,
RIVCO Products, Inc.*::*Highway Mounts & Pegs*::*1" Highway Peg Mounts for Honda GL1800

I haven't done any measuring yet so I'm not sure if that lower rail is a 1" OD, so that idea may be shot

Firstly welcome from the best part of Australia, this site is a great place, can be bit like a bag of mixed lollies "ya reach in and not knowing exactly what you will get but will usally be rewarded with a treat"

I am running Kuryakin Pilot Pegs on thier Highway mounts bought as a Kit they fit perfectly on the Triumph Crash Bars and as previously said they are superior to the Rifco Bars some will say that they flex but they will protect your frame by absorbing any stresses rather than transferring them to your frame... don't know about you but I would rather replace a set of $186 bars (also available individually) than replace the bike frame in the unfortunite case of a fall,

Welcome. Mostly we're an odd lot. But you have to be a little quirky to ride a bike with a motor larger than most sedans.:)

Thanks for the welcome and the info.

I'm still undecided which way I want to go with the highway pegs. My goal is to have somewhere to move my feet to on longer rides and I really don't like the look of crash bars but as you point out they do serve a purpose. Maybe I'm just in denial, as I don't want to imagine dropping this bike let alone having to pick it back up without a forklift.
