HellFire is Going Darkside !!!

...and i wondered how a C/T would react under the accelerating while on the edge. this is what keeps me from trying C/T
If in doubt stay on the light side. Yes, there is a difference. Ive ridden through wind blown moderate rains, while on the edge, on oil soaked Nashsville Interstate stetches and merger interchanges at outrages speeds with no loss of confindence. When you observe the handling of, the other 45-55%, darksiders in the twisties and sweeps you see just as much if not more ground patch as a lightsider.

very well ...based on these two clarifications of C/T under these precise specifications I am closer than ever to switch at next tire change up

The biggest obstacle for the CT is how tight it fits on the rim. I do my own tire work with a manual no mar pro series tire changer and have changed 40-45 mt's and about 15 tires on various cars and trucks that I own. The Riken ct on the rocket was hands down the tightest fit. Part of that is due to the lack of center recess on the rocket rim, but even without that variable it is still very tight. I will hold out until I have installed a few more cts on my rocket before I can definitively indicate that was not just a fractionally smaller tire than normal, nonetheless, **** that was tight. Oh, and by the way I used a 245-55-16. If anyone has any tips or tricks for easing the mounting please advise.

I'm not 100% sure but I think they tore my bead on Riken while mounting it. I loose a couple or more (depends how long I wait to check the air pressure) psi. I mean its obviously leaking somewhere and I have no nail or puncture in the tire. There is very light scaring of the wheels edge also indicating that they had a hard time mounting it.

TFrazier:
I also live in the DFW area, and have considered going darkside with my next rear tire change. Where did you get your CT mounted at if you don't mind me asking?

Did it myself at my brother's company shop in Tyler. You might see if Biker's Bay will do it for you...or Bates on I-35 in Carrolton.
