Looks AWESOME!
Didn't take long to get over that little tiny pull it does at top-dead-center did it? To me it kinda felt like a really weak magnet was being pulled away from a soft surface. I can't even feel THAT any longer either. Had mine a month now and it's like old hat, rides better than the Metzler EVER did.
Have you fine tuned a PSI yet?
G'day mate could you please explain the dark side, getting old and a bit slow in the mind that is definitely not on the bike, busted again, licence may be cancelled for a month or two.
Darkside = car tyre. Some love it, some hate it and others are not yet convinced. I don't have a problem with it; just don't think it's for me. HellFire's one of the more respected coves on this site and as you can see he's a convert. Plenty of others too. Go to the Darkside forum and read all about it. Also an article in Aus Road Ride - Cruiser mag issue before last.
tfrazier and Hellfire looks like the same tire? nice deep thread, I still can't see a car tire handle as good as a motocycle around cornners? but a lot of you guys swear up and down I still don't get it how is that possible when one tire is flat and the other is round.
Hey Heyfire, I surprized no one asked you were your getting your condoms when you start comparing it with a car tire

You can ask CanberraR3 ( Richard ) what it is like to Try and keep up to a Dark Side, I can go harder in the twisties than I ever did on the metz... it don't start sliding or steping out under pressure. The first thing you do is ignor it has a flat bottom and if you have the right tyre pressure you will never feel any transition, it gives you a big foot print even when you have it over far enought to be obliterating the foot pegs with out the feelers ( they are a waste of time and only end up digging in causeing a broken foot peg)
I will testify for the dark side it is a whole lot better ride specially 2 up. you will need to do a little counter steer nothing major and pulling a trailer it is a dream, I run 80 and 90 mph. with the trailer do not even know it is there dark side always
TFrazier:
I also live in the DFW area, and have considered going darkside with my next rear tire change. Where did you get your CT mounted at if you don't mind me asking?
I have a question regarding darkside...and that is when riding in long sweepers at high speed say around 100mph and accelerating ...since your tire would be just on the edge of the bottom and side does it create any twitching at all? I have ridden in this configuration and i wondered how a C/T would react under the accelerating while on the edge. this is what keeps me from trying C/T
I've had mine in excess of 100 on some interstate sweeping turns and never noticed anything. I have also had the bike in excess of 145 and never have had any wobble twitch or anything with my ds tire. I have a riken raptor at 31psi and I weigh in about 220lbs. I try not to do this too often because the paper trail could be expensive.
