headlight shattered

Sure, skip the Daymaker clones, buy the proper originals - JW Speaker. ;)

They even have really cool ones coming out now that turn on more LED's when you lean to illuminate the road shoulder.

They're, uh, nice and, uh, cheap? Ok so they're incredibly expensive but very cool.

LED Motorcycle Headlights - Model 8690 M Series

LED "bulb" retrofits are just as illegal as HID retrofits. Because halogen reflectors are made for a halogen filament that's in a very precise position in space inside that reflector so most of the light goes where it's supposed to.

@cr0ft...did you not mean the 8690 A? They are the ones that change when you lean into a curve.

With a Roadster you can set the lights so that turns do not affect your lighting of the highway, I ride about 500 miles plus a week which is done half and half daylight and night. The JW's work great. Do not really give a **** about looking cool but do care if I make in home alive. For the later JW's use very expensive components which in turn makes them very expensive. Cheap china Manufactured is just that. YOU need a light or lights that will get you home in one piece buy the JW's . Did a lot of homework prior to spending the money on JW's and guess what? Still here and not dead from something that I did not see due to inferior lighting. Do not have a light meter just common sense.

Do the Cyclops 3800 lumen LED conversions....59 USD from Rocky Mountain ATV and the diff is amazing! Check the Cyclops bs the HALFORD!

Skip those daymaker clones...Bad LEDs and made in China...The Cyclops are make in S. Korea and ROCKet using CREE LED emitters and only pull 20 w per headlamp!

Is the light from the Cyclops focused correctly within the correct same cutoff as the original Rocket ones and does it stay firmly in place with no wiggle movement?

"Extreme Bright' is one thing but if it doesn't have sharp cutoffs with light going everywhere instead it will dazzle oncoming drivers and even yourself on street signs etc. That is why they may be fine for offroad use in ATVs etc but not ALL on-road vehicles.

It is possible it works great with the Rocket reflector, fittings and shell but could be lousy with another model bike reflector. What is your assessment?

GREAT FAIRING! WHAT IS THAT?

just as I finished installing the GPS behind the screen I figured go for a spin around the lake ( skaha lake BC ) smack on the east side I come up behind a hauling truck that turned off a gravel road onto the asphalt I stayed smartly well behind just in case and when clear of traffic I went left and goosed the beast and would'nt you know it a small rock came off I guess from the space between the twin left tires and hit my headlights , busted the glass and the lightbulb had to keep going being committed to passing the truck came back home cursing at least it did not hit my helmet windshield !!

GREAT FAIRING! WHAT IS THAT?
that my friend is a secdem/bulster fairing in grey smoke (the black bottom is my painting )you can see those on their site it is a french business very inexpensive compared to most fairing the fixing is not too good I made my own but the fairing works good I added a slipstream lip 2inches across the top and now the wind flow just over my helmet I use it from october on ,, right now I put the sport short fairing back on

That's pretty much what I've been saying too. My solution is just a little more radical (and workable) than most - namely, proper socialism, where we the workers own the factories jointly instead of some pointless fat cat owning that, and said fat cat then sending the cash they siphon out to Panama so they don't even have to pay taxes to keep roads and bridges up and running.

Interesting posts seeing as you both ride foreign bikes:banghead::roll:
