Header Design for Dummies

What unit are you going with - M4 or the M400? Let me know if I can help. I have a lot of time running/racing and tuning M48/CDI8 set ups with the ADL (dash/logger). I have done a good bit of testing for Motec USA (JGM) and OZ - the first CDI units and the GPS stuff.

I am not a dealer, but I may be able to get you a good deal through friends. If you want a dash logger, I would look into the AIM1 stuff - good quality, and cheaper than the ADL.

Also, Link EMS (in NZ) has a couple of newer units called the Link G3 and LinkPlus G3 , I have not used it yet (although I have one on order that is being held up by the back log of dash units) but it looks fully capeable, and the users I have talked with seem to like it - even those with Motec experience.

Something to look into.

I going with the M400. Dave is a MOTEC dealer and has offered me the LSR discount, so that helps price-wise. I may take you up on your offer of technical help... your presence on this forum is a big plus!

The Link systems look very interesting... I need to read more.

Very interesting article. For my purposes (7250 RPM redline), this quote was instructive:

"Also notice that just when the dyno pull ended at 6,500 rpm the stepped-tube headers were taking over with more power. If this engine were able to breathe a little better and rev higher, the stepped-tube headers would begin stacking up better."
