hi all,i discovered an oil leak at the rear of the head,so I took the bike to the local dealer and asked if this would be a goodwill job,he said he would ask triumph españa.The next day he rang me and said no dice on warranty.Im not happy as you can clearly see it has been bodged from new,so I contact triumph uk.the next day I receive an e-mail from triumph españa.Take the bike back to local dealer and let them "diagnose it proper"so I did.Today I receive a call from local dealer. Triumph will pay 50% of the bill as a goodwill gesture.i think that's brilliant well done triumph UNTIL they tell me the bill will be 2000euro and they want it for 20 days YES 20 days.now am I a little stupid thinking that 2 grand is a piss take or does anyone think that is reasonable?:(

You are getting burned and royally screwed.
2000 Euros is equal to $2613 U.S.
Try and do it yourself or get a local mechanic to do it for you, its not that hard a job.

had to replace head gasket also (roadster) an the bill was 1200€ at my local triumph dealer.

900€ for labor and 300 for gasket and oil and little bits here and there.

took em 3 days, after the gasket was in stock.

thanks guys I guessed 1100 euros would cover it,and 3 days in shop.tomorrow im going to ask triumph uk if they think 2k and 20 days is acceptable.i let you know if I get a reply.

received an e-mail today from triumph, they would like a copy of the quote I have had from their dealer to see which parts of the work the goodwill would cover.the only problem is it was a telephone conversation.sent them an answer, see what happens.im just glad they are responding to my questions and taking the case seriously.will update
