Has Anyone Tried This "Rocket" Helmet

IMHO, the C3 represents the state-of-the-art in flip-up lids. For the reasons I stated before, though, much as I'd love to avail myself of a modular's comfort advantages, I will not compromise my coconut's safety to anything less than the most bulletproof helmet design available, i.e., a solid fullface.

Having suffered two accidents over the past 40 months where my bike was totaled and I was not, I have good justification for standing pat!

I have been seeing this helmet and it had a good report from the Bikers Web. I think I am going to try one this spring. Check it out.

Looks like a nice compromise between a full face and a flip up. WOW, Nolan has gotten pricey since they 1st came on the market. I 1st heard of them 15yrs ago when I got my 1st flip-up, they were the least expensive decent helmet back then. I guess they got bigger, better and more full of themselvs. lol :p
It almost looks retro from the days of the full plexiglass bubble snap-on for 3/4 helmets back in the 70's. I like it.

The only issue I've had with Schuberth is that they become loose and floppy with the mechanism that allows the helmet to be ridden with the chin bar up. The face shield also suffers this same problem.

I tried on the HJC equivalent at the bike show in NYC last weekend. Their rep told me that the Joe Rocket version is slightly more oval shaped than HJC's. The HJC helmet fit me quite well in a size small. My Arais have all been mediums and fit me perfectly, so I would say that these helmets run close to one full size larger than true. Since I started this thread, I've found the J Rocket RKT 101 Carbon Transtone online for $230. It's a good buy (MSRP is $450) at that price and the red one is a very good match for my Mulberry Red mistress.
Phil, where'd you find it for 230? That's a steal!

Hibernate for a day and look what happens. That Nolan N43 is quite enticing, and Modular is my only way to go. I feel very secure in my N102, but don't wear it much. Got a cheapie beater Hawk I use and will check the N43 when I can. Like the Rocket color and design but not the solid aspect with glasses. Ear plugs work for noise, stick an earphone with it or helmet speakers and smile all day long. Not recommending it however, just an observation. :D
