Has anyone seen a modified, ( or "modded" ), a bear claw?

I was told, and have read, that the bear claws are different between Tourings and Roadsters. I got the part number today, and confirmed it with a Triumph dealer, ( for the Touring bear claw ). I just want to thank "albertaduke" for offering to help me out. Wish I could've taken advantage of his kind offer. I'm still interested in getting one, and am willing to pay for it. Thanks.
I bought a cut down bearclaw from Duke. Had it painted gloss black, got some edging from Cardinal, worked out very well, thank you very much.

The shape of the R3T bearclaw is way different than the R3,'s also I'm sure it's due to the tanks shape.

I made a plaster casting of mine, then layered in fiberglass and resin. Cleaned up the edges with sandpaper and a Dremel tool. Fashioned attachment brackets from light sheet metal and used epoxy to secure them to my new custom claw. A shot of gloss black paint from a spray can, and voilà a custom black bearclaw.

Do you have any pictures you can post of your custom claw?

up, otherwise, I would roll it out into the sunshine for better pics...it is scratched and banged up like the rest of the bike. Many hard miles.

Nicely done but now just a bearPAW, no claws, must of been a 'nail-biter' ;):roll:

I wish the previous owner had done that to my '10 Roadster's but they painted mine black like a few other bits to 'update it' and when I have removed chipped and flaking paint on other originally chromed bits they have been 'scoured' with a brillo pad or similar.:(

Have you considered knocking off that easily scratched paint & then covering it with the new "wrap" style graphics vinyl that is out now? you could even do a slight color contrast like a dark metallic grey or something to make it a little different ;)
