Has anyone seen a modified, ( or "modded" ), a bear claw?

I would worry to much about covers unless you plan to do a lot of dusty riding
Thanks HansO. I live in high desert. Very little rain. Occasional dust storms, but often it's just windy and dusty. Not an actual storm. So these covers are made for coverage while riding? Or, while parked? See? I told you. I don't know much. Thanks.

K&N do offer a set of RAIN covers for the 2780s.

imo - worth the effort - it will also need the heavy duty MUCK off the filters them selves.
Put them on and leave them there. Unless you plan monster mod's to the engine they wont affect airflow much.

I have had my R3 sat in pissy spring weather in the UK for days and ridden though massive "pan-Iberia" thunderstorms and no issues with water - I have an OZ-Claw over it.
Other things filled up with water but the filters stayed perfectly dry.

Thanks barbagris. I ordered the covers today, at the same time I ordered my filters, ( based on a knowledgeable person's recommendation ). I appreciate your advice. Happy trails in the UK. Thank you....

Yes. I've heard that. I will do that. I want mine to last. Since we're on that subject, tell me about putting the covers on, when it rains? I just ordered my K&N's. They haven't been delivered yet. Thanks.

I think they said just put covers like a plastic bag over when parked in rain for an extended period. I cannot imagine it is required at all if your un-modded bearclaw is still fitted. If bearclaw cut back then it may be a good idea when parked in rain. If oiled they will repel water when riding or a tiny bit will get vaporized and pass through engine combustion with no ill effect. Some HP engines even use water injection to cool intake mixture before combustion occurs.

Either way - do not over-oil them as they become restricted then. When new they do not need any more oiling as they come pre-oiled in plastic bags.

Good to know. Thanks Ishrub. I do want to cut back my bear claw. Trying to find a second one to buy now, cause I'm no artist.

I believe I have a spare bearclaw and I do not need it anymore should you be interested...

Thanks so much albertaduke. I am definitely interested. Does your bear claw fit the Touring R3? I'm told the Roadster bear claws measure slightly differently, and won't fit the Touring R3's. Mine is a 2013. Tell me what the next step needs to be? Thanks a million...

sorry to say but my bearclaw is for roadster

Not sure there is any difference in the roadster and the touring, but I've only ever dealt with roadster / standard bikes so don't take my word for it
