Feel like a total mug but after taking measurements etc decided to order a set of hd road glide bars for my tourer.
Waited three weeks for them to turn up (normal with hd) and then got them on the bike. Adjusted the angle and they felt, and looked, great. Started to fit the grips and master cylinder only to realise there wasn't enough room as the master cylinder is so much bigger than the harley item.
Soooo the moral of the story is steer clear of road glide, electra glide etc bars.
Have now ordered a set of bars from the new R3 Roadster to see how they feel

I suggested to a member in another thread to try out the stock Thunderbird bars as I had a 2008 R3 Touring and now have a 2010 Thunderbird and the first thing I thought when I got my T-Bird was that the bars would be a nice improvement on the R3T. The other member took my advice and put the T-Bird bars on his R3T and is very satisfied with them.

I just installed the Thunderbird bars too. Very nice. Much better than stock. If you are over 6' tall, I would make the change right away.
