UThanks for starting this Pete, been worried about @HansO and @ruzzle, along with everyone else. Another day of smoke. God bless the Firefighters. Watching ABC news and the evacuation centres .... this is one that I’m too unwell to attend ..... I’ve been on the ground for most of the last big ones ... my heart goes out to those who have lost everything. But .... hey we’re Aussies. We will just build a new pub or two with a greenie or two nailed to the walls for decoration. Drove down to Sydney the other day ..... this is from the Gospers Mt fire as we approached Lithgow.

Crazy, and my youngest is thinking about going with a company using chinooks out of Washington to fight fires there in OZ for 3 months a year and then the western U.S. for several months, dangerous work

Well 5.30 pm here and the smell smoke is thick in the air

Our thoughts are with our Aussie neighbors...it must be a living hell..Christchurch NZ where we live is some 2200kms from Sydney Australia in a straight line..and we are all oranged out here with the smoke haze...it is very strange with no sun but an orange glow...what it must be like in Aussie with not only the orange haze but having real concerns that the fire is close, must be quite scary...
