handlebar options?

Handlebars???

I do not understand. On my Rocket III handle bars the is some sort of device with a screw on it that is inside the handlebar. I did not try to remove it. There is a complicated bar-end geometry with a welded and chromed nut to take the thread of the bar-end retaining screw???? I did not try to remove it.
So on the Classic handlebars is this device stuck in the handlebar?? On the Valkarie handlebars it is absent and must be welded into the bar??? Unless you want to glue on grips- Kuryakyn ergo grips??? I like the Throttlemeistter!!!
If I want the Valkarie handlebars & the Throttlemeistter I must weld to a chromed nut assembly to take the thread of the bar-end retaining screw????

You could do that if you want, or you could simply get the ThrottleMeister for the Valkyrie handlebars, like I did.
Have you already bought them? If not, just tell them what you need, otherwise, yes, you would have to weld a nut in place.
OOPs, I'm wrong about that, apparently they have adapters now.

What are the adapters you speak of? and where sells them?
Reason i ask is i am after fitting a set of HD bars,
Does anyone know of any reason they wouldn't fit, apart from the obvious end weight issue..

I run Harley "Buckhorn" bars on my Rocket. I made up some plugs and welded them in the ends of the bars for the end wieghts.

I fitted Valk Bars. I bought the "Classic" cables but was dissappointed that they are only 2 cm longer than the "normal" ones. Waste of money. The old ones woulda stretched OK, since I had to reroute anyway - I have the Rivco riser AND Valk bars.

The bar-ends require a tapped thread insert or a nut welded into the bar. I turned-down some aluminium bar to "interference fit" (Note to self, next time do it to to "clearance fit"). I drilled and tapped a thread to suit the bar-end bolt, then fitted the inserts.

(Because I hadn't made them thin enough, the first one jammed half-way in and I had a hell of a job backing it out. I then turned them down quite a bit more and loctited them in). There were some fiddly details with washers and spacers to make the bar-ends sit snug without the central (rubberised) plug pulling-in too depp, but it ended up real neat.

Good thing is that nothing shows when you've finished, so you can be ugly and clumsy and nobody knows. Just don't scar the OUTSIDE of the bars, or knock them out-of-round or the throttle will jam.

Oh, and the stock grips and mounts come off easy. The clutch side has to be rolled-off a bit, but will come. The throttle side is 2-Allen bolts and slides straight off.

Just call or email ThrotteMiester, they will have everything you need.

I thought the Valkerie bar look was very nice... 8)

These work well for me, 2" lower and 2" less pullback, had to extend the width they now measure up 1'' narrower than stock, thank's sam the paazo levers are the bomb........ now get those rear sets on and you will understand why you followed your hero again....
