Handle bars on 2010 Classic.

I’ve a conundrum, while deep cleaning after purchase of my latest R111 Classic I’ve discovered that the clutch cable was routed wrong. So I put up between the headlights and top yoke and the cable stops about an inch short. Front brake pipe from Master cylinder is tight as a guitar string as well, throttle cables also wrong side of top yoke.
Can someone please confirm that R111 Touring bars are different to a Classic as they just don’t feel right. As I’ll need to source a set of standard bars.

when i bought my 2007 classic the cables were back behind like what you said and i believe that it was because someone had put 2 inch risers that brings them up and back so in order to make them fit you have to modify

Thanks for that it would help, bit awkward to get as I’m in Lowestoft. What I need is confirmation that Touring bars are different, as I feel that’s what’s been fitted. What part of Nottinghamshire are you in, as I’m going to Peterborough early March.

No risers fitted, standard clamps on what you Yanks would call top triple tree. One of the previous owners (I’m the 4th) had fitted these bars and also cut off the two wire guides the cables run through on the top yoke.
Having had an Early Rocket and when I test rode this one, the bars seemed just wrong. The bar ends just came to far back for me.

R3Touring bars are VERY different to Standard and Classic bars.
Most prefer the original Classic bars designed to match the footboards even on Standards and Roadsters with pegs.
A lot of us even hated the R3Touring bars on the R3T and I had a NOS set of Classic bars I fitted to mine before writing it off.
I gave away the stock R3T bars.

You will find the Roadster ones offered by @Fozzie are much better than R3T bars on your Classic but they would improve further with pull back risers like RIVCO made.

The Classic has longer clutch and throttle cables with their own Triumph part numbers you can find on any dealer parts finder like Fowlers UK.

Very informative thanks, just what I’ve been after. I’m pretty sure all the controls, cables and brake pipes are standard Classic, so it’s just a case of getting a set of Classic or Standard bars. As for the risers I’ll wait and see how I get on with an original set and take it from there, as I’m a stumpy bugger.

I travel over to Wroxham pretty regularly so could maybe assist somehow, as Fozzie is based approximately between my home and Wroxham.
