Had to let the Rocket go, my license is grateful!

It’s the same this side of the pond mate, dealers claim that they need to make money. But do take the piss on trade in’s!
It seems to be all brands. It used to be that Harleys had the best residuals. Mine didn't. Took a hell of a hit when I moved it on to buy the Rocket. The lesson I've learned is I'll never buy a new bike again. I blame pcp. Too many low mileage bikes around as people on pcp chop them in to avoid the balloon payment. If you're a cash buyer you get hit if it turns out not to be a keeper. You're better off letting the pcp-ers do the new buying and scoop up their nearly news when they trade them in.

I’ve only ever had one new bike in my whole riding life, since I lost a serious wedge on that one, never brought a new since. Normally don’t buy from a dealer, but I did get a good offer on the Royal Star Venture I was looking at trading on this Rocket I just brought, so I said stuff it.

I must be an oddball as I can ride my Rocket 3 around without going crazy. At almost age 74 I'm more self disciplined than I used to be. I love the power and acceleration but I also enjoy the versatility of riding as a regular cruiser. Especially since the Rocket 3 is hundreds of pounds lighter than my Indian bikes.
63 yr old Rocket pilot here. I have no problem putting around town on the R3. But I must admit that I get huge kick out it when young guys on sportbikes pull up beside me at a light, blipping the throttle. Then they get a better look at the monster I'm on and immediately cool it. The power is nice to have, even if not used.
