Had no choice......

@1BigDog
I also find Celebrex works better than all the others.
I only use it when heading out for a multiple day ride.
Start a couple days prior and stop when returning home.
This routine keeps my knee and hip pain to tolerable levels whilst riding 300 - 400 miles per day.

Bull, ill find out my surgery date on 9/11. Right now he's about 5 months out. Should be up and running by next June......:cautious:

9/11 would NOT be my choice for a surgery date . . . of ANY kind!

Highly recommend Naproxen or Celebrex vs Ibu. The Ibu is much worse on your organs, especially if you take it daily. Celebrex can have, if I recall correctly some impact on your kidneys instead of the liver like Ibu. Personally, I'd much rather use late generation NSAIDs than the old stuff, they typically last longer with smaller dosages and fewer side effects long term.

Actually, to elaborate a bit, the medical community is slowly realizing how terrible Ibu is on your system. Recently the recommended daily max dose was reduced by 25%, and that new limit, according to Harvard Med, is still far far too high. As I recall (it's been like 2 years since I was really researching it), anything over 750mg/daily is known to have impacts on your liver despite the "acceptable" limit being set around 1500mg/day depending where you read. That 1500mg/day might be fine if you take it once a month or once in a while as needed, but daily doses need to be quite a bit smaller.

Food for thought. Ask your doctor, in some cases the pain relief is worth the risk/reward when other NSAIDs don't cut it.

While where talking about medication if any Dr prescribes Riluzole for you fellas.be bloody carefull as for me it exaggerated my condition terribly to the extent I thought i was going to depart from planet earth.it got pretty bad to the extent i stopped taking the only meds that may help .just was gonna let nature do its thing .surprise ,surprise over the last three weeks I improved heaps .going to be around a bit longer.:):):)

Well, since we're talking drugs, Paracetamol is innocuous-seeming but one to really be wary of. It is very easy to overdose and do serious liver damage to yourself; this is your Tylenol/Panadol/etc. Often seen in a combo with codeine. That was also recently downgraded, ie the recommendation is to take less than was earlier considered safe. Bottom line is that all meds are poison, just have to decide if the side effects are worth it.
