Hello,

I’m 6’ and I want to change my GT’s foot pegs to Mid control ( R spec ). Only thing I’m concerned is that with the GT seat (23 mm lower than R ) and Mid control (Assuming it’s at its lowest setting ) will it be too much of a squeeze for my legs ?

Looking forward for your inputs.
thanks.

My friend, you're just a bit taller than me (I'm 1,8m tall, I assume it's kind of 5'11?) and my 2020 GT with mid controls is perfect for me but I think that it's more about the length of your legs than your total height but still you can move the pegs a couple of inches forward or back on the mid position so I think that you should be fine. The riding position of the GT with Mids it's great for handling and mostly to cope with crappy roads, bumps and potholes as the rear suspension is IMO the Achilles heel of our fantastic bike. Ride safe!

I want to change to mid for same reasons. Roads over here are patchy and every time a bump comes I have to pray.
Thank you for your inputs.

I moved my GT controls all the way back and rolled the handlebars down some and brought things in range for me 6'2" w/32" inseam. I think the R controls would be back too far for me.

So with Forward controls in mid position my legs were cramped after 3-4 hours of riding. May be I need to look at my riding shoes. Problem is I ride the R and I was so comfortable with the mid peg that I’m not enjoying my forward pegs as much.

They are easy to bring back all the way. It makes a difference. The extra linkage piece goes in the slot under the right side cover.

Hi, I am 6 ft tall as well, and wanted to do the same thing, but I found with the foot pegs set to the most back position (closest to me) the ride was very comfortable, so I abandoned the idea. I do have the Tiumph bag that mounts on the passenger seat which provides a form of backrest. This might have made it more comfortable.

Seems like you'd need to be 7ft tall for those front holes. Even the middle was too far for me. It felt like I was lying in a recliner.

At 5'9" the forward pegs on my GT were great but not so great for my back and neck. I have had mid controls for 14 of the 15 months I have had the Rocket and really like them and can lift my ass up for bumps. To me the mid controls are much better in the twisties also as I can shift my weight much faster and have a better feel for the road.
