I have the passenger comfort seat on my R seat (looks like the passenger seat on the GT). I doubt they have specific comfort seats for each model but cannot confirm myself.

Is it any good ? I've been thinking about getting it for my R.
I plan to go 2 up for 3-4 hrs long rides.

according to the wife its significantly better than the standard one. Would also recommend the backrest

I have been using the Corbin dual touring seat on my R. First off, it looks a bit odd without the backrest of the GT for which it was designed to fit with. Having said that, the extra setback of the seat makes the seat peg relationship almost perfect for me. Since I don't yet have the backrest from a GT, I put a seat bag that looks sort of like a seat cowl, and it hides the mismatch pretty well.

I switched to the R seat on my GT because the sports tail bag juts out over the rider's seat with the GT seat and sticks into my back. The R seat provides more support in the rear, being tilted forward in that portion, allowing for a longer pillion and positioning me slightly more forward. Haven't tried it on a long ride yet but so far the R seat seems more comfortable for my measurements and with the forward controls and GT handlebars.

The 2nd gen Rocket 3 GT and R model seats are not compatible with the 1st gen Rocket Roadster. I don't think there are any mounting kits available to make it work. You can swap seats between all 1st gen Rocket Roadsters, Classics & Standards. The same is true of swapping seats between the 2nd gen GT and R models but swapping between the 2300 and 2500 is a no.

I'm considering purchasing a new 2023 R but want a lower seat. Will the 2023 GT driver and pillion seat fit the R? I think this gets me 1 inch lower. Correct?

Yes. They're a direct swap. I have both for my GT.

I think 1" is about right and it sets you back about 1" as well. I found it gives me more leg room on the bike. I will say that there is then less seat cushioning to absorb the bumps that go through the crappy rear shock.

They are swappable, but also note that both the seat 'in-fill' piece and the pillion pad are not interchangeable, so if you're going from R to GT, you will also need to get the corresponding GT pillion seat or in-fill pad.
