This is the exhaust manifold on my 2022 UK spec GT with forward footpegs,...

- and the exposed bit of exhaust at the top of #3 has burned a hole in my textile trousers. I've just found this picture, which has better heat shields - is this a US-spec model ?

Those are also the GT shields, just from a slight different angle (and with different lighting and color temperature setting on the camera).
Neither of those are the R shields, which don't cover the forward portion. Places like CarbonFBR make carbon fiber versions of either, if that's what you're looking for.
I swapped mine out for carbon shields and coated the inside with exhaust wrap before installing.
They're still HOT but better than before, and pretty toasty on chill evenings now the autumn is rolling in.
Same hot ankle syndrome here. I rode Sunday with temps around 90 F , keeping leg to the outside of the peg too. It helps a bit but 20 mins after getting off the bike I could feel the heat coming off the boot and ankle. I'm looking for fixes too and will share if I find some. I wear this sometimes Amazon.com when I remember I have it. It provides some protection but still feel the heat.
