When on the 3 Sisters ride in Leakey Tx last Oct there was quit a bit of passing and nobody had a problem with that & fun was had by ALL!
Cept Nobody was passing @1olbull
This goes a long way toward speaking with the ride Leader.
Morris, @R3Tex, knew and advised everyone of the road situations and "spirited" riders without needing to be asked. Maybe he just knows we are all hooligans.
And yes, @1olbull is fast. There were 4-6 of us im the spirited pack and he still managed to get out of sight quite often.

I like riding " the pace " in the twisties. If someone is riding faster than you wave them past if this is done an order is established and everyone can enjoy the ride at their own pace. Then I slow down in the straits until everyone has caught up. Regardless of what anyone else does I always wait for the last rider before I proceed. I also will focus on group rides being relaxed rides. I ride slower in a group usually just for safety sake. I would feel bad if someone tried doing stuff that I may do on my own and they got hurt.

Yes, @WyldCFH I know you are all incorrigible. I never have a problem with anyone passing when I lead...it's just means that they are big boys and girls and obviously feel comfortable with the roads and directions (pretty hard to get lost on the Sisters) and that they assume responsibility for their own navigation and safety. Had I not had two VERY inexperienced riders there under my personal supervision I would have been right in the middle of the hooligans in the front. You will remember that my spouse showed no such compunction about running off with the ne'er do well, law breaking hooligans that passed me...ME...their duly appointed leader and all around reluctant designated adult supervision (d@mn I hate adulting )

Amen- A few years ago a loose group of mates went out for a run on our Guzzis. There were all sorts and I was on my OLD (1979) V1000. We all agreed just go and we'll catch up. After a while noticed a headlight was missing in the mirrors. One of the younger guys had run off the road - into a ditch and stone wall. Only bike damage, rider was just a bit bruised. Not done a group ride since.
