Grief about owning a British bike?

Polaris did to Victory sort of what Harley did to Buell.
Totally. I enjoyed having a "Pre-HD" Buell and nearly bought a Victory. I traded in an HD (we all have to have 1 so we KNOW the truth) - and my wife persuaded me to buy the R3 based on purely on cost.

The R3 is my first Triumph. I have always run Italian bikes.

Although I think if I were to buy a toy now - It would be a KTM. The Alps beckon.

I am one of those people. If all I had was a minibike or a sportster I'd be riding it.

A lot of folks here give HD ****. I like them but known them for what they are: A nice cruiser motorcycle. They are by no means a high performance motorcycle. Adding 3 or 4 cubic inches every couple years doesn't change that fact. Triumph achieved in the Rocket that which I have been searching for years an inline powerful motor with a driveline which actually performs and handles nicely. It's bigger than a HD cruiser so I for once feel like the bike fits me.

I would love if Indian would recreate an inline 4 version like they had years ago. water cooled of course 3L would be nice. lol

I asked the salesman at the Indian dealership when they were coming back out with a 4 cylinder. He said they've never had a 4 cylinder. I told him he needs to research his brand, and Googled a picture for him.

Some salesmen don't have a clue about the product they're selling. Couple months ago when I 1st became aware of, and started looking at Rockets, I stopped by a local dealer that had a Triumph sign out front, along with a Polaris and 1 or 2 ATV brand signs. They had one Rocket on the floor, a NOS '15 Touring. So I started asking questions about the bike. I asked if it had a 6 speed transmission (I didn't know the answer at the time) and he said yes, it is a 6 speed. Going home and getting on line and looking into the Rockets it was apparent Mr. Salesman didn't have a clue.

i was wondering about this, If there was a gathering of the clan, would you be able to find your bike in a parking lot full of other rockets since they basically only come in one color?

Get the rare and very very fast blue one...you'll never lose it 'cos it will be the one with crowd gathered around admiring it
