This bike scares a lot of bikers. It takes a special rider to climb on board this bike.

This bike will test your riding skills in many ways, but the rewards are many. At speed they are a dream. Slow speed maneuvering takes skills you can cheat on lesser bikes.

Things you must understand.

Front brake is for power and rear is for control.
Friction zone (google it if you are not familiar with it)
She will dip in turns so counter steering is a must
power out of turns will lift her up.

These skill apply to all bikes, but the Rocket demands you master them.
It is about attitude and the understanding that it is a partnership between you and the bike. She loves to dance.

Wow, why does everyone who looks at Indians end up with this bike? A month ago I was dead set on getting an Indian. I had seen the rocket in a video and dismissed it because I just assumed I couldn't afford it until an Ebay listing caught my eye. I first chose Indian because they are nice and I didn't want to follow the crowd. Still one day might get a chief if I can ever afford it. But first I need something to satisfy my need for speed. The scout was just too small. Then I saw the size and performance of this thing and I was hooked. I don't see how anyone can look at this thing and just not be in awe. My bike is still in Minnesota somewhere on it's way down to me, but I have already experienced what some of these other guys are talking about when I tell my friends what I bought. First they are astonished that there is another choice besides HD, then when they ask about the engine their jaw drops and I have to repeat with a big grin "yes, i said 2300CC" It's my bet anyone who wants to give grief are a bit jealous that they spent twice as much for half the performance.
 
I can only comment on my own experiences but like a lot of you I started out with Japanese cruiser went through a few big nakeds (Z1000,B-King) then decided to settle on a big cruiser, love the sound of Harley I don’t think there is anything like it but the bank account didn’t agree! That’s a lie, I couldn’t justify the amount of motorcycle you get for the price.
Knew nothing about the rockets til i saw one in the flesh saw the price and that was it.
The thing that most surprised me was the respect I got especially from the Harley riders.
But you do a little digging if you’re not familiar as I was and you will see the rich and long history that Triumph has and it makes sense.

You didn't buy that one from Moon Motorsports in Monticello, MN, did you? I've had my eye on that one, too!

Going to look at/hopefully pick up mine today. Can't wait!
