I love my 550. Though I guess it will be replaced.

Don't let the price throw you, you get more than what you pay for. It comes with the RAM mounting for the bike, plus an extra cradle and mount for the car. The car mount cradle has a built in speaker and microphone, so when the unit bluetooth coneects to your cell phone, you have the best hands free set up I ever had for my car. It even down loads the numbers from your phone, so you use the GPS to select the number and dial.

If you bought a less expensive unit, and then all of the hardware you get with the 550, you would end up paying more than the 550 package.

I just went to ebay/parts and accessories/motorcycle and typed in search for "motorcycle GPS mounts". I found a number of interesting mounts with prices ranging from about $15.00-$40 to adapt the Nuvi to the MC. Like others, I won't spend the money for a MC GPS but have a a Nuvi and intend to use it for MC touring.

Edit: This guy has quite a few items.

During my Texas Hill Country Salvo trip, I encountered several encounters with the liquid weather, nothing real heavy, either. After about the 5th encounter my Zumo 660 began displaying the message, "Device not supported" and, "USB port not correct"(or something like that). It's only 8-months old. Everything still works just fine, though I'll be logging a call to Garmin to get it serviced.

I have the new 665 and have been in 2 Texas downpours so far no issues but it is mounted behind the windshield.
