***Follow up**** GI-Pro detailed instructions???

I thought I saw a post with detailed (pics included) installation instructions for the GI-Pro. Mine came in today and I want to be sure I don't fat finger anything.

Is there a sticky or a link to this kind of instructions?

Thanks,

After 2 weeks of trying to do a 10 minute plug and play job, I finally can claim success in installing the GI-Pro. Looking forward to doing some miles on it tomorrow to feel the results! While just running it around the neighborhood tonight, checking if the gear indicator was correct, I noticed that the GI-Pro seemed to be just a little bit slow in displaying the gear I was in.
:D :D :D :D

Just do it, Phil! It sounds kinda' easy. Besides, if you fudge it up, well, we do learn more from our mistakes, don't we? (just kidding - hope someone can help you out) I'm looking to add the same to my Mulberry Mistress.

Maybe I missed it, but has anyone put the GI-PRO on the R3T?

It shouldn't be this difficult!!!

For the life of me, I can't find the location to plug the GI-Pro into! I've spent close to 3 hours unscrewing, screwing, unbolting, bolting, pulling off, putting back on the seat, tank, bear claw, left and right panels under the seat.

Could some kind soul PLEASE draw a big red circle on the spot I should find the plug to plug into?

Below are the crappy cell phone pics of the spots I've looked...

Under Tank front

Under tank back

Under bear claw

Left panel under seat

Thank you for saving my sanity!!!

I feel your pain, Phil, but my understanding is that this is like a 10 minute plug and play procedure. Maybe you and Hellfire can exchange phone #s via PM and he then can walk you through the problem?!

Hope you don't mind my "volunteering" you HF, but I know you to be a helpful sort and you are competent with a wench, doh, I mean wrench!

Phil you are looking in the wrong place. The plug is behind the side panel on the left side aft of the oil tank. It is a black triangular plastic cover held on with two torx screws. It has a small circular plug on it, where the ignition might go if it were relocated.
Behind it is a plug, you will need to separate the plug and remove two pins. The pins get relocated into the plugs that come with the GiPro and those plugs get inserted into the ones on the bike.
Follow the instructions closely so you pick the right wires to relocate.

The gear position sensor is on the rear of the engine just below the side panel, follow the wires that come out of it and you will find the plug.

I can see the sensor in the picture you have labeled "left panel under seat". Also I can see just at the left of that picture, the plastic cover with the torx head screws that you have not removed. That is the cover you need to take off and the plug is behind it.

You da' man, HellFire!

Super big ditto! Thanks for your help HellFire. I guess I'm lucky that the weather has been crappy or I wouldn't have been taking the time to jump into this project, a 10 minute plug-n-pray installation has taken me more than 4 hours in just looking for the correct location! I'll spend some more time tonight after work!

Thanks again HellFire!
