Mine is about 10 years old and still looks new. They don't make my specific one I don't believe, but this site is the double-axle version of my single-axle.
The bed of my trailer is 6.5x10.

That is a good looking rig. You could get a nice Ural side car on that, which is in my future. I want to do so off roading but got tired of dropping my BMW GS.

My last Pace was a 6x12 single axle cargo style but I would have purchased a Featherlight if I had known about them. The wedge front end alone is a great feature, significantly cutting down on drag. My first Pace was a 7x12 and I could get two bikes in it side by side. With the six foot wide it was a very tight squeeze. I miss the having a trailer but just used it very seldom. I always found it tough to find a place to keep it at the other end of the journey.

Very nice!! So you sold this one or you still have it? I was thinking it would be great to have the beast enclosed when I travel - it's been pouring rain both days I've needed to trailer it!! But I was concerned about the drag problem also.

I sold it a couple of months ago. I bought a used one in Virginia in 03 to haul back a vintage BMW, my tools and firearms that I had left with a friend for my last tour in Hawaii. I sold it upon my return and bought this one new in San Diego, summer 05, selling it this fall after using it for several riding trips to California during the winter. Pace builds a nice lightweight trailer but the big flat front end causes a lot of drag, which is why I like the design of the Featherlite.

I like the idea of an open trailer but there are some substantial drawbacks, the one being the bike is exposed to the gravel and salt on the roads during winter. I had towed it down behind my Jeep Grand Cherokee the previous year. The front of the trailer was a real mess from a huge storm in the Siskiyous which closed down the pass between Oregon and California. It would have significantly damaged my bike had it been on an open trailer. You might consider a Zega cover for open towing.

The Zega is designed specifically for open towing or carrying a bike in a pickup. They have several grades of fabric that are rated for different speeds and miles. What doesn't show in the picture of mine is the multiple tie down points around the bottom of the cover. It fits snugly now and when tied down will not be going anywhere.

I have never seen material like this in a cover. Most unusual. I'd call them first to chat and get the full description. I initially sent them an e-mail query and received a nice call in response.
