Hello Brennus and welcome from Virginia. I am partial to my 2014 R3T with just over 65K miles now. It is my daily ride to work, my two-up three-day weekend get away and my cross country steed. I vote Rocket III for your next ride brother.

Welcome. You should get out and try an R3 - they are VERY different beasts to a Harley.

That's not to say a Harley is a bad bike, per se. But If you are , let's say, vertically challenged - the R3 seat height and weight can be an issue for some.

Think of the R3 as a bear. If you treat it gently then it is a fluffy teddy. If you dont, well ......

.... you will get mauled.

Thanks Barbagris, great picture! Just looking at he performance figures and its size, the bear analogy seems fairly appropriate! The size and weight does not worry me, the rocket is winning so far!

Hi there from near Orange on the other side of the sandstone curtain. Over 60, overweight, over 100,000 km on my Rocket. Also a member of the local Classic and Cafe Racer club with a collection of bikes I like to ride on frosty mornings. The Rocket is what it is. Big, Fast, Reliable, Comfortable, docile at low speed and extremely maneuverable. It doesn't draw gasps from 18 year olds who have all seen Wild Hogs but it does command respect and its English and we still have a Governor General in Australia.
Mines an '05, one of the first .... been absolutely trouble free. I only ever let a Triumph mechanic (I refuse to call them Technicians although I do enjoy a Cappuccino)go near it once, otherwise do all my own work. Rockets have personalities .... just like their riders. I don't think any two feel the same to ride (bikes, not riders). A few of us meet annually here on the east coast (would love to meet some of the West Coasters) and as a group I have to say that everyone I've met who rides a Rocket is a Gentleman. Even some past Rocket owners who still hang around - @HansO and @cusso ken to name a couple ..... great mates. We also have the collector and procurer of all odd parts @Ishrub and who could ever forget the men with incredable Technical skill @Mittzy and @ozrider.
In the end its your choice .... I made it 14 years ago and have never regretted getting a Rocket. 4 X accross Oz and back, once up the Centre and around and back, and my Avitar is riding onto the Spirit (or SPOT as its sometimes called). Oh, and I just had the chance to put the Rocket around Lakeside and Willowbank in Queensland last month. Got some odd looks going out, particularly as I'm a darksider but got some quiet applause when I came back in .... 180+kph on the back straight at Willowbank in 3rd gear before working bloody hard to pull it up to get around the "paper clip". Come and join the fun

G'day Longrider, great info right there mate, thanks and thanks for the welcome. It seems like the rocket is definitely getting the nod, encouraging to see how trouble free your experience has been. I'm hoping that Wrecka still has his bike for sale. Hope to meet up one day.
