For our oversees mates Wombats are almost solid muscle about a metre long and can weigh 35 plus kilos, unlike most other road kill that squish they are like a concrete block when you hit them ,they build their burrows by pressing their backs up against the top of the burrow forming a solid arch ,they also go through fences by lifting the wire with their backs ,tough little fellows and dangerous to road traffic.
Hi from one of your closer neighbours in Karratha .You will have no dramas for fuel. Did a run from here to Darwin 18 months ago with Sandfire to Roebuck Plains (near Broome) the longest stretch between fuel at 290 kms. I did carry a 5 litre plastic jerry in one saddle bag but didnt end up needing it. Hate travelling stressing about making it to the next stop.

Good to know, a couple of us are keen to do a run to 80 mile during a work break when it cools down a bit. We'll have to meet for a burger and ride in Hedland some time!

Sounds like a plan. The Whim Creek Pub ,roughly half way to Hedland from here , is in full swing again so it shouldn't be too hard getting a few together for a run through to Hedland. Off for lap of the Island last week of August , planning around 15000 kms over 5 weeks.
@HansO is a very helpful bloke, fun to hang and ride with (unless you are ahead of him and going too fast, in his opinion.
Boy can he spin up when pissed. When I was new here, Hans jumped in and spent a lot of time working me through Tune ECU, PCV +AT aqnd trip K&Ns.
I'll always owe him for that start.
