G'day from outback Western Australia

Hey mate, fuel up in Perth/Wubin/paynes find [ optional]/mt magnet/meeka/kumarina. expect 240 km from 20 litres, you have 24.With your Roadster, only use 91 fuel. leave Perth before 6am...not much wildlife till you hit Wubin. It will be daylight by then. Should be able to cruise 120-140 kmph after that.Watch for coppers around Dally and Magnet, just before Meeka too. Paynes/meeka and kumarina are not open 24hrs. Don't travel at night...way too much wildlife including cattle/roo's/camels/donkeys plus roadkill, from the Roadtrains ect. Perth to Newmans only 1136 km.....I normally cut this out in under 14 hrs in a triple Roadtrain, breaks included. You should do it in 12/13hrs.6-7pm. Best place for a shower is the Shell in Meeka.Best food is BP Wubin, BP Cue. Yes ,we've met, sort of...you bought your bike from Lloyds and I asked about it via the Triumph rocket 3 page on FB. Travel safe.

When my son was prepping for a cross country trip, added on an external tank on his BMW that fed directly to the fuel tank. It was plastic and worked ok, but I think something like this may be easier....

Or if you want to make the trip without refueling....

Welcome to the group and good luck with your trip.

Thanks Rick, I've done the trip on my old SV before, but needed a jerry can to get me from Kuma to Meeka. Sounds like it won't be a problem on the rocket. If anything, it'll be more of a problem doing a quick maccas run to hedland, with the 260 odd k's from Auski to Hedland.

The wildlife is a *****, eh? I made the mistake of deciding to ride North after a track day at Barbagallo one time, and saw so many roos by the time I made it to Dalwalinu, that I pulled into the pub and called it a night. I won't be attempting the ride at night again. I've done a bit of ambo work out of Newman, the amount of call outs for cattle strikes is ridiculous!

Welcome from New England.. I'd keep a small container and a siphon hose handy. If you do run out of gas there most likely will be someone coming along sooner or later, the trick is to get it into your tank from theirs....Happy trails

WARNING!
I have one of these and they suck when you try to fill with today's pump nozzles.
Gas squirts back into your face.
Thinking I'll try this one next:

Overlander Adventure Equipment

Liquid Containment bladders up to 12 litres. Roll it up when you empty it

I might be able to do the first hundred or so clicks if I get mine in time.

Get some pollen and attract some bees, cage them above the tank with a trickle drain so you keep getting topped up with Bee Pee

Planning to visit OAE when I'm in town, so I might grab one while I'm there.

You just bought the new rocket I saw on the fb page? When do you pick it up? I'll probably be heading North early on Thursday morning.

Keep this in mind, electric fuel pumps like to be bathed in fuel to keep them cool and no pump likes to be run dry, it will shorten the life span of the pump, and clog your fuel filter faster. Besides that good luck with your trip!
