I have been busy getting ready to install 3 velocity stacks on my intakes. In preperation I have removed the stock air "ducts". Having done that I realized I had room to move the unsightly coils leaving more of the shiny rocker box cover exposed. I will be making a bracket for them soon.
I also re-routed the coolant over flow and placed the catch bottle where the air filter was. I am still debating the pipes, should I go with a single tuneable Supertrapp, 3 bell tip mufflers for that retro look or suck it up and buy a set of Jardines? My rocket's Chi will flow better than ever after rearranging the environment.
See my pics.

FYI, if you remove your left side cover there is a perfect spot to put your coolant bottle, I used a zip tie to suspend it from the frame rail and put the cover back on.

what kind of velocity stacks did you get? been wanting some myself, I know Hombre had some made to hs specifications

I strongly reccommed the supertrap as thats what Travelguy used on my Predator pipes he makes... I run mine with no discs now, but with 9-12 and the end cap its almost perfect comprimise if I want it quiet and still powerful. wide open with no discs, is still less noise then Jardines.

Predator pipes you say?

Tell me about these "predator" pipes. Have any pics?

I am currently waiting to hear back from Wimmer machine about their stacks. Also, Dusold Design quoted $285 each for the custom ones they put on their rocket chopper.

check out my post in the performance section on graphite with Predators.

also I belive velocity of sound was making stacks for less then that for a complete set...

Buy your V-Stacks from Velocity of Sound in Australia for around $50 each, depending on size. Even with Postal Express shipping you'll have a full set for way less than $285! I have a collection of 24 V-Stacks for the R3, different lengths and bell mouths, and 86 pages of research on V-Stack flow for the R3 engine prepared over the last year. Sorry guys, since I've been told by someone that they don't give a **** about patent pending work, I won't release it. Just remember that the longer the stack, the lower in the RPM range torque gets boosted. Know your torque curve before deciding on V-Stack size.

OK those Pipes are the cat's ass! Can I have some too? $?

As for the cost of Dusold's stacks they are not your run of the mill stacks. The are turned from billet aluminum and have a really weird shape. I think they would be too long on a standard rocket.

That resembles hunting over bait.

Informative none the less. Clearly 8 sets was a fair investment (if investment is the correct word) along with, my presumption, no less than 8 dyno runs to ascertain torque curves. Perhaps the next, more frugal, individual will map it and share.
