Fuel tank distance

Still having issues working out fuel levels as I did 220klms on a ride , started with a full tank , light came on at 175klms and filled the beast up tonight and it only took 15ltrs work that one out .

May I point you at this The most accurate Fuel Gauge you will ever find ... - as has possibly now become apparent consumption varies and the warning light can be best considered uncalibrated. I have seen consumption increase by 25% by cruising 500rpms faster than usual.

I averaged 36 mpg last weekend on a 4 day mountian roads tour of the Appalahians. Road fairly spirited in the twisties an ran about 10 over commuting between sections.

My two measures are commuting to and from work and then long hauls on the super slab; 150ish miles per tank and 195ish, respectively.

AS I accumulate more miles I see that I am in the 180 to 200 range. Can be worse if I am not on the highway.

Thanks for the replies fellas will have to carry a 5ltr jerrycan or 1gal for the imperials . Lovin the bike a lot better than the busa I rode before the rocket . And thanks rocket man for all your replies happy riding

I ran my 2015 Roadster out of fuel once, just to check usable tank capacity. I had a spare quart of gas with me, as I usually do, so was able to get a fairly accurate reading when I filled up. The tank holds 6.3 usable gallons, to the bottom of the tank's "neck basket", when parked on the side stand.

The bike upright, usable capacity is 6.45 gallons, filled to the brim.

When the yellow "low fuel" light comes on, I have about 2 gallons left. My "miles to empty" reading jumps from 14 or 15 to "0". When that happens, I have about 1 gallon left.

I typically get 36mpg (according to the odometer) on my daily commute. 36mpg x 6.3 = 227 miles of range.
I just fitted a Bridgestone Exedra Max 240/55 rear tire, which has a 3-4% larger circumference, so I am expecting to get 34.5 - 35 mpg according to the odo, which counts revolutions of the prop shaft. In reality there will be no change.
