On my Roadster, the light comes on at about 130 miles. The fuel trip still shows about 50 miles left. When it descends to "0", I have gone at least 20 more miles without running dry.
I want to see just how far it will go?
I am not aware of other R3s gauge accuracy but my 2 last bikes the C109RT Suzuki boulevard and before that the Suzuki GSX 1400 had optimistic fuel gauges that's why I did my static tests ,surprisingly my Harley had a spot on accurate fuel gauge and a good size 3litre reserve for back up.
It just irritates me that it takes 2 minutes to put in 4.9 gallons, then the last 1 gallon takes 5 minutes because of the long neck in the tank of the R3T. Anyone know a safe way to open up the little air hole on the left side of the neck to allow more air to release as I fill up?
OK, so i have a R3 roadster. i fill it up on collection from the dealer (not new, 09) i ride to the petrol pum and fill it up with 16ltrs. i do 87 miles and the fuel light comes on. bemused i go back to the pump and rim it to the top but can only get 16.7 ltrs in the tank????
any advice how a 24.1 ltr tank will only take 17 litrs????
@1olbull If your speedo is spot on then you likely have a tune that has altered the the factory setting. This also changes the calculation for the odometer thus the error is now in the displayed miles.
