Frustrated with Triumph

Hoda used to stop making any replacement parts for their bikes after three years. NONE. We are dealing with a European bike here. No different than BMW or Ducati. Yea, HD dealers have all the accessories all the time. Of course they do . HD riders would rather bolt on shiny stuff than ride. My dealer has always gotten my parts in a couple of weeks. Of course I don't look for much. Got the TORS, front crash bars, sissy bar and just got the luggage rack. Oh and new mirrors when te chrome on mine started to wear off. Knowing the parts are coming from England, I expect some delay. And when dealing with an R3T remember, when they recalled the tires, the recall only affected about 1800 bikes worldwide. Not a lot to warrant a lot of parts sitting around in storage just in case you want it.

I got my seat today from NCY in CA and I like it! I just hung up with Sagebrush to get a custom made fender bib to go with my triumph tank bra. I will post pictures when it comes in.

My findings

Hi guys no one has mentioned the great guys from Pure Triumph in Fort Lauderdale.I ordered some after market parts from them and they were faultless with the whole transaction right down the delivery to New Zealand.Hope this is of some help to some one

as soon as I get my starter fixed I plan to look at the HD CVO and the Yamaha Stratoliner.

Good luck! I waited over 6 months for parts for an R1 about 3 years ago and nearly 5 months for parts for a 07 dyna that had self destructed under warranty.

It happens with every manufacturer, especially the ones that are growing and having to adjust their inventory levels as they go. Don't forget that Triumph is still really a niche brand.

I have been fortunate with the accessories I have got on my bike when purchased. However, my bike is down due to the ignition not kicking in. I went to my dearer two weeks ago to get the switch ordered, went in and was told Triumph doesn't have them at all. So I will have to wait for the part.

I'd just like to echo this comment. I've just received a sissy bar & cargo rack for my R3T, which I ordered from Pure Triumph. Their service was excellent, and even including shipping to NZ the parts are 2/3 of the price I'd pay to Triumph NZ here.

No thanks to NZ Customs who decided that the best way to open a ziplock plastic bag was to tear a hole in it. Morons. Luckily the washer that fell out was still in the box.

Clear the air

As a former Harley owner, please don't give them too much credit. If you will look closely at the options, they are designed to fit bikes that cover 15 to 20 years. At that range, you can keep inventory and the likelihood someone will buy it before you retire is good. 20 years ago, Harley had a 9 month waiting list for their new bikes (in the USA). It is all a matter of perspective. You ride a bike in the USA made outside the USA, you have problems. Yamaha is just getting a better understanding of their customer base. The Japanese are slow to understand the Harley success. Its not about the bike, so much as the availability to personalize it. If we consistently buy Rockets, then the accessories will take care of themselves. Just my 2 cents.
