I got some new turn signals for the Rocket but before I try what the manufacturer suggests I wanted to run it past everyone here. They say I can use a heat gun to warm up the front mounts in order to get them off the fork legs. That will save me from having to remove the top yoke but how safe is it? Has anyone here tried that?

Yes, those are the signals I got but this is part of their instructions on how to change the front signals so my question is if anyone has tried heating up the clamps to remove them:

Hello NHNRS, if I were you I wouldn't have fun heating this plastic... you risk, within a few degrees, ending up with a black that has become gray or even creating bubbles... This is not so complicated to lower the fork tubes and slide the indicator support! Well, okay it's a bit long because it involves removing the wheel but, from my point of view, it's safer. Afterwards, everyone does as they want, as they can...
