Hi!

I am looking forward to replacing the front brake disks on my Roadster 2013 ABS by myself.
Original service manual is helpful, however it doesn't address the fact of presence of ABS.

I heard that if you do it yourself, the ABS light goes on permanently and you need to reset it at the dealership.
Is that true?

And please share any valuable experiences you might have got while doing this job!

Thank you
Alex

Pads aren't related to the ABS, but discs are.
Changing discs doesn't upset the ABS system unless you don't put the ABS disc back on top of the left brake disc, or you damage the cable to the sensor or something

Brembo do front discs for Roadsters, the look like factory discs and are cheaper than Triumph.. and they're Brembo.

Brembo rotors (78B40873) on the left below and pads (07SU14SA) on front wheel

did you notice improved stopping with the brembo vs factory discs?

I had Triumph rotors and Brembo pads for years before this so didn't notice anything radical when moving to Brembo rotors too

The ABS applies to the sensor to speed ring distance causing the light to come on, not the disk itself. If the gap is too small or too large the sensor doesn't create the 'frequency' the ECU is looking for and the light comes on. So if the disks you are putting on change the distance of sensor to speed ring then you may need to adjust. I had this happen when I went to wave rotors on my Thuxton R and had to shim the sensor mounting with a washer, the sensor was rubbing the speed ring.
